House in Kruhlyk, Ukraine. The site is surrounded by tall pines, so the facade rhythm picks up the vertical lines of the tree trunks. Not a metaphor — a literal visual anchor.
Smooth mineral render on the main surfaces. Natural timber slats for warmth. Edges are cut sharp to pull visual weight out of the mass — a thick-walled house that doesn’t read heavy. Garage doors hide behind the same vertical wood panelling as the facade. You won’t see them until they open.
Daytime: solid, sculptural. The textured plaster catches sun and throws micro-shadows. Night: concealed architectural lighting kicks in and the roof visually detaches — floating above the glow. The whole structure reads as a lantern in the trees.
